| Hardin, Montana: Killing Cats with CO2 Gas is Cruel and Illegal |
Right now, the City of Hardin is discussing plans to create a gas chamber to kill community cats through CO2 suffocation. This unspeakable act of animal cruelty is against Montana law, and we won't stand by.
Some of the disturbing comments made by the city's Law Enforcement Committee at an April 7 meeting include:
“I think the feral cats need to be just put down.”
“We’ve got to come up with a way to get rid of them.
“We can set up a gas facility and do it.”
Alley Cat Allies reached out to the city and called for an immediate end to any plans to kill cats. We are committed to protecting the community cats of Hardin, including pursuing legal avenues.

 |
When the worst flooding in Hawaii in 20 years swept through Oahu, Alley Cat Allies’ Rapid Response Team hit the ground running to save cats’ lives.
Our team spent days in action at all hours in Oahu’s hard-hit North Shore, providing food and water to flood-affected cats and their caregivers.
And when cats were rescued from flood zones and needed emergency veterinary care, we worked closely with veterinarians to cover costs of their treatment.

| IMPACT STORY: Protecting the Community Cats of Puerto Rico |
 |
These are the community cats of the Paseo del Morro in San Juan, Puerto Rico. These are the lives Alley Cat Allies is fighting to protect from a lethal U.S. National Park Service plan to remove them. And every step of the way, we are grateful to have you with us.
The Paseo cats deserve to live in peace and safety in their outdoor home, in the community that loves them.
We invite you to meet even more of these cats, who are true San Juan community members, by clicking the video link below:
